According to "The Family History of Thomas S. Nelson" written by Thomas S. Nelson, he sites his source as Delilah Downing Brown, youngest daughter of Eli Downing. Her source was the Downing Family Bible and the birth date that was written in this bible was 10 Sep 1776.
