2916. John Albert Thurston 7 (Daniel 6, Hon. Nathaniel 5, Col. Daniel 4, Benjamin 3, Daniel 2, Daniel 1), eldest son of Daniel 6 and Abigail (Stevens) Thurston of Haverhill, Mass.; born in Bradford, Mass., Jan. 27, 1817; married, in Lynn, Mass., Eliza Sparrow Downing, born in Boston, Mass., May, 1810, daughter of Smith and Hannah (Jacobs) Downing of Charlestown, Mass. She died September,1871.

Mr. Thurston is captain of police in Lynn, Mass.; has been on the police force thirty-six years; seven years cuty marshal; two years assistant marshal; tow years chief engineer; six years captain of police; many years constable; member of the Methodist church. Children:

Mr. Aspinwall is a dentist in Lynn, having graduated from the Philadelphia dental college. In 1861 he entered the navy as a common sailor; was promoted tonaster, then to ensign, which position he held till 1866, when he received an honorable discharge. Children:
