James was born about 1720 in Ireland.[1]

He married Janet Montgomery in Aug. 1739 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.[1]

James died on 28 Oct. 1776 at Lower Truro, Colchester County, Nova Scotia, Canada.[1]

Downing-2391 and Downing-671 are not ready to be merged because: James and Janet only had one son, named James not William, who married Margaret Dickson. I need to check this out and check out James and William, as I have them as brothers not father and son.
