William G. Doyen was born about 1833, based on his age in the 1880 Census, which shows him as 46 years old.[1] The second marriage record of his daughter Lillian says he was born at New Vineyard, Maine..[2] His gravestone is inscribed with a birth date of 3 Apr 1833.[3]
Marriages
William G. Doyen married Sarah Philbrick Hinkley.[4] On 9 Jan 1858, William G. Doyen of East Livermore and Sarah P. Hinkley of Livermore published at Livermore, Maine their intention to marry.[5] The FamilySearch transcription of their marriage record says the marriage took place at Livermore "from 1857 to 1858."[6]
On 20 Jun 1878, William G. Doyen of Livermore, Maine, and Julia E. French of Jay, Maine, published at Livermore their intention to marry.[7] No record has been found of the marriage, but Julia E. is listed as one of the wives of William G. Doyen on the family gravestone, which says that she died on 21 Apr 1879.[3]
On 12 Dec 1879, William G. Doyen and Angelia M. (Young) Knapp published at Livermore, Maine, their intention to marry.[8] They married at Livermore on 25 Dec 1879.[9]
Death
The gravestone of William G. Doyen at the Pleasant Hill Cemeter in Livermore, Maine, is inscribed with the dates 3 Apr 1833 and 23 Jul 1918.[3]
