James N Doyle was born about 18 July 1850 in Jacquet River, Belledune, Restigouche, New Brunswick, Canada, son of Patrick Doyle (~1824– ) and Nancy Anastasia Unknown (~1826–~1916).^[1]

James (40) married Christina Melanson (25) (born on 18 July 1865 in Petit Rocher, Gloucester, New Brunswick; daughter of Joseph Melanson and Mathilde Roy) on 22 September 1890 in Jacquet River.^[2] Their known children were:
