Biography

John Leo Doyle was born March 20, 1931 in Veblen, Marshall, South Dakota. He was the son of William Doyle and Sophie Nanik.[1][2][3] He married La Vonne Smith September 15, 1956 in Great Falls, Cascade, Montanna.[4] Their children are: Patty (Ron Steigerwald), Pam (Larry Audet) and Billy (Lisa). They divorced June 30, 1967 and remarried February 10, 1968.[5] They divorced January 6, 1975 in Conrad, Pondera, Montana.[6] He married Cleo Morey March 1999 in Shelby, Montana.[7] He died August 30, 2011 in Great Falls, Cascade, Montana. [8] He is buried in the Montana State Veteran's Cemetery in Helen, Montana.[9]

Obituary

John L. Doyle, 80, of Great Falls, a retired lighting salesman, died of natural causes Tuesday, Aug. 30, at Benefis Peace Hospice.

At his request, no services are planned at this time. Cremation took place under the direction of O'Connor Funeral Home.

John was born March 20, 1931, in Veblen, S.D. After high school, he enlisted in the Navy for four years. John was very proud of the fact that he served his country and was a veteran of the Korean War. After his military duty, he went to work for the Great Northern Railroad, where his passion for trains began. After leaving the railroad, he started a career in sales. He was a salesman with various companies, and eventually started his own company, Supreme Lighting, which he operated until the time of his death.

He is survived by daughters Patty (Ron) Steigerwald of Billings, Pam (Larry) Audet of Michigan, and Ronie (Terry) Pearsall of Great Falls; and son Billy (Lisa) Doyle of Great Falls.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Cleo Doyle.[10]

Obituary

Cleo (Morey) Doyle, 71, a retired waitress, died of natural causes Wednesday May 14, 2008 at Peace Hospice.

Survivors include her husband, John Doyle of Great Falls; daughters Deanna Mainelli of Omaha, Neb., and Ronie (Terry) Pearsall of Sand Coulee; sons Dean Koetje and Lyle (Lori) Koetje of Omaha and James Koetje of Sand Coulee; brother Chet Morey of Gresham, Ore.; six grandchilden and one great-grandchild.

Cleo was born May 13, 1937, in Plentywood, Mont., and was raised and educated in the Glasgow and Plentywood areas. In 1965, she moved to Great Falls, where she worked as a waitress for many years and continued friendships with many of her old customers. She joined the Great Falls Christian Center and filled her life with the Lord and the "Golden Girls."

She married John L. Doyle in March of 1999 in Shelby, Mont.
