DOYLE, John Benedict "Kyte" - 79, Inverness, died on Sunday, October 15, 2006, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Born in Inverness on January 18, 1927, he was a son of the late James and Penny Ann (MacLellan) Doyle (Inverness). Kyte died peacefully with family by his side.[1]
He was a member of Stella Maris Parish, Inverness, and member of the Stella Maris and St. Margaret's Church choir. He did various jobs throughout his life but his last job before his retirement was at the Inverary Manor, Inverness, where he was employed for 19 years. He thoroughly enjoyed his daily walks and will be greatly missed on Central Avenue riding his "two-wheel Cadillac". He was very faithful, being at mass every day, rain or shine. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 47 years, Theresa (MacLellan) Doyle, and his five children and six grandchildren whom he adored. "Rest in peace, Grampie".
Surviving are daughters, Donalda (Andy) Fougere, Halifax; Elaine Doyle, Inverness, and Linda (Harold) Chandler, Whycocomagh; sons, Greg (Ruth), Inverness, and John (Cindy), Edmonton, Alta.; sisters, Mary Burns, Arichat; Florence (Ivan) Bois, New Waterford; Theresa MacKenzie, South West Margaree; Anne "Toody" (Bill) Mullock, Ottawa, and Annie Bell (Ken) Boudreau, New Brunswick; brothers, James, New Waterford, and Johnny Coady, Vancouver; several nieces and nephews, and grandchildren, James, Jaci, Andrew, Kelson, Cody and Brad.
Visitation will be in Inverness Funeral Home today from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, October 18, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, October 19, at 11 a.m. in Stella Maris Church, Inverness, with Father Duncan MacIsaac officiating.
