Private Thomas Drake Jr. served with 1st Continental Light Dragoons (1776), Continental Army during the American Revolution.

Thomas Drake Jr. is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A033503.

Thomas Drake was born in Amelia, Virginia Colony, about 1761. He was the son of Thomas Drake Sr and Lucy H. Browning. He volunteered for the Continental Army in Amelia County, Virginia, and saw service in the Battle of Guilford Court House and the siege of Fort Watson.[1] Thomas first married Elizabeth Truitt on 28 August 1783 in Amelia, Virginia, United States, and together they raised a family until her death. Then, in 1802 Thomas married Catherine Vaughn in Brunswick County, Virginia, and they raised a family together. Afterward the couple moved to Bedford County, Tennessee. Thomas died there on 24 Mar 1835.[1][2]
