Truman Drake is a civil war veteran having served in the 5th Ohio Sharpshooters and the 65th Ohio prior to that service. Lived much of his life in Michigan. Buried in the Pinconning Township Cemetery near Pinconning, MI.
Served as a private in Co. E, 65th Ohio Infantry; enlisted 5 Oct 1861; discharged for disability 19 Jun 1862. Also served in the 5th Independent Co., Ohio Sharpshooters; enlisted 8 Dec 1863; mustered out 19 Jul 1865. (Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War).
