This profile represents Elizabeth Drake, daughter of Thomas Drake, baptized 22 March 1592 at St Andrew's, Plymouth, Devonshire.^[1]

This birthdate was previously believed to be that of Elizabeth Drake Bampfield, daughter of Thomas Drake of Buckland. However, that Elizabeth Drake is recorded as marrying John Bampfield in 1602, and thus would have had to be older than ten years.^[2]

This Elizabeth Drake was also previously listed as a second daughter Elizabeth of Thomas Drake of Buckland. However, that Thomas Drake is not known to have had two daughters Elizabeth; this profile has therefore been detached from him as a child. The Thomas Drake named as her father in the baptism record would have to have been another person.

This profile previously represented an Elizabeth Drake born about 1561 to Thomas Drake of Buckland. However, as that Thomas Drake was born about 1554, he would have been too young to have a daughter born about 1561. No source was given for the birth of an Elizabeth Drake born about 1561 in Devon, nor has subsequent research yet discovered it.
