Biography

Nathaniel was born in 1685 to Enoch and Sarah (Porter) Drake in Windsor, Connecticut

Nathaniel married Rebeckah Barber, daughter of Josiah & Abigail (Loomis) Barber, on Jan 23 1706.

Nathaniel was Deacon of the First Congregational Church

Nathaniel Drake died May 23 1769 [[1]]

Nathan died one year after Rebecca's death [[2]]

There is confusion even in the books, they list different children. Research shows Nathaniel and Rebecca had a son named Nathaniel, it is possible the children shown in The History of Ancient Windsor, Connecticut Vol 2 Page 585 are the children of the second Nathan. They are Mary b. Dec 31, 1736, Eliabeth b. Nov 14 1739, Enoch b. Aug 24 1741,Elijah b. Jun 20 1744, Eunice b.Jun 22 1749, Joseph b Aug 22, 1752.

In some on line trees they list Nathaniel as being married to Abigail Loomis, Abigail Loomis is his wife's Mother, so it is possible someone put the wrong name. There is a record around 1738 that list a Nathaniel Drake married to Abagail Loomis.

New England Families Genealogical and Memorial: A Record...Volume 2 shows Nathan the 2nd being born in 1708 since there is documentation that supports they married in 1706 that would be more in line.
