Biography
Manning Webster Drake was born on June 17, 1813 in Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio. His parents were James Drake and Sarah Paddock.[1][2]
22 Jun 1905 Sullivan Democrat -- Manning Drake's Relatives, Neighbors and Friends Celebrate Birthday Anniversary.:
- "[...] Manning Drake was born in Butler county, O., June 17, 1813, and when he was but 4 years of age his parents moved to Fairbanks township, Sullivan and settled within a mile of where he now lives. Here he grew to manhood and in 1833, when 20 years of age, he was married to Hannah Dix, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Seth Dix. Three daughters were the result of this marriage, and in 1839 Mrs. Drake died.
- "In 1841 Mr. Drake was united in marriage to Margaret Armstrong and to this marriage eight children, five sons and three daughters, were born, six of whom are still living. They are: Mrs. Malinda Gaskins. James J., Ira, Manning E, William Drake, and Mrs. Margaret Ellen Scott. Benjamin and Sarah are the names of the deceased children. Mr. Drake's second wife died October 22, 1860. In 1870 Mr. Drake married his third wife, his bride being Mary Wallace. [Marriage record below shows 1863.]
- "Notwithstanding Mr. Drake's 92 years of life, he is enjoying fairly good health. He is rather feeble, it is true, but considering his age he is in as good health as could be expected and his hosts of friends are hopIng that he may celebrate many other birthday anniversaries before the Grim Reaper calls him to his reward. [...]"
Manning Drake married Hannah Dix in 1833.

Manning Webster Drake died on July 6, 1908 in Fairbanks, Sullivan County, Indiana[1] and was buried in the Drake Cemetery in Fairbanks, Sullivan County, Indiana.[2]
Obituary - Sullivan Union - Wed, July 8, 1908:
- "County's Oldest Citizen Dead -- Manning Drake Died Sunday -- Oldest Citizen in the County Passed Away at Advanced Age of 95 Years - Resided Here Since He Was Four Years of Age -- Manning Drake, the oldest man residing in Sullivan county, died Sunday night at his home in Fairbanks township at the advanced age of 95 years. Old age was the cause of his death. Mr. Drake was born in Ohio June 17, 1813 and moved to this county with his parents when he was four years of age. He grew to manhood in this county and had aIways resided in Fairbanks township where he followed the vocation of a farmer. He had been in bad health for several years and his death had been expected for some time. Mr. Drake was the father of seven children; all of whom are living. They are Mrs. Ellen Scott of Lewis, Mrs. Malinda Gaskins of Farmersburg, Manning Drake of this city, James Drake of Farmersburg, Ira and William Drake of Fairbanks township. The funeral was held on Tuesday morning at his late residence. The burial occurred at the Drake cemetery."
Manning was born in 1813. He passed away in 1908.
