Biography

Melissa Madden Draper was born on 12 March 1867, in Kentucky, United States, her father, James Wesley Draper, was 40 and her mother, Esther Emaline Watson, was 30. She married George Alexander Richards on 30 June 1886. They were the parents of at least 8 sons and 4 daughters. She lived in Bugg, Hickman, Kentucky, United States in 1920 and Milburn, Carlisle, Kentucky, United States in 1930. She died on 7 July 1959, in Hickman, Kentucky, United States, at the age of 92, and was buried in Fancy Farm, Graves, Kentucky, United States.^[1]

In 1900 she was enumerated in Magisterial District 3 Buggs, Hickman, Kentucky.^[2] The household included George Richards 39, wife Malissie Richards 30, son Joseph H Richards 13, daughter Myrtle Jn Richards 12, son Orby L Richards 10, daughter Edna Richards 8, son Ezra Richards 5, son Auzie Richards 2, son Perry Richards 1, and son Kerry Richards 1.
