Biography

Mary was born in 1773. She is the daughter of Thomas Dray and Sarah Hambrook.

Research Notes

It is likely that Mary (daughter of Thomas and Sarah) married Richard Bailey/Bayley as that would make Richard's daughter Mary Bayley the cousin of John Prebble (son of Mary's sister Ann Prebble nee Dray). Further research is required as there were a few Mary Drays born about this time in this area. Search marriages of Mary's siblings to see if Mary Bayley and/or Richard Bayley were witnesses.

If she was the wife of Richard Bailey, then she died aged 71 years in 1845 at Folkestone, Kent, and was buried on the 13th April 1845 at St. Martin, Cheriton, Kent, England.

In 1841 she was occupied as a washerwoman and was living with her sons Richard Bayley and William Bayley in Folkestone, Kent.
