Marie-Rose Ghislaine Edith Dresselhuys (known as "Ghislaine") was born in 1922, the daughter of Cornelius Dresselhuys, Consul of the Netherlands in London, England (United Kingdom), and his wife Edith. Her parents divorced, and her mother married Gomer Berry, who became Lord Kemsley.
Ghislaine Dresselhuys married Major Denis Alexander in 1943 in Westminster, London. [1]
This marriage ended in divorce. Ghislaine Alexander then married Henry Cubitt - in 1955 in Surrey. [2]
She became Lady Ashcombe when her husband succeeded to the title Baron Ashcombe in 1962, on the death of his father.
Her second marriage also ended in divorce. She married Lord Foley (Adrian Foley) in 1972.
She was considered a woman of exceptional beauty. She became well known to the public as a panellist on the British version of the television show "What's My Line" in the 1950s.
She passed away in the year 2000, aged 78.
