Biography

Simeon was born in Aug 1816 to William Driggers and Millie Lastinger in Bulloch, Georgia, United States.[1] He married Catherine Collins on 6 Nov 1838 Madison, Florida Territory, United States[2][3] and died circa Apr 1870 in Mayo, Lafayette, Florida.

Second Seminole Indian War

Simeon served in the militia on four occasions during the Second Seminole Indian Wars:

First, on 6 Jun 1837 he mustered in Capt Madison C. Livingston's C,o of the 2nd Regiment of East Florida (Volunteers) Militia and mustered out on 17 Dec 1837.[4]

Second, he mustered in Capt R D Bradley's Company of Volunteers on 11 Apr 1839 and mustered out on 10 Apr 1840.[5]

Third, on 23 Nov 1840 he mustered in the 1st Regiment, Brigade of Florida Mounted Militia, Capt William H Cone's Co and mustered out on 23 Feb 1841.[6]

Fourth, on 14 Mar 1841 he mustered in the 1st Regiment, Florida Mounted Militia, Capt R D Bradley's Company and mustered out on 14 Apr 1841.[7]
