Biography

Arthur E. Driggers was born 1872 to Elizabeth Huff and Harleston Driggers in Richland County, S Carolina. He was a dedicated fireman for the Columbia Fire Department for 14 years. He died from injuries sustained from a tragic accident (see findagrave obit for more details of incident).

Arthur was only 47 years of age when he passed in 1917. He was survived by his widow and four children. He was an engineer of Company 2 and was heralded as one of the most efficient and capable man in the department. Arthur was a member of the Baptist Church Live Oak Camp No. 2, Woodmen of the World, the Odd Fellows and Myrtle Lodge, Knights of Pythins.

He is buried in theElmwood Memorial Gardens in Columbia Richland County, South Carolina, USA Plot: Square 63, Lot 26A, Grave 10
