Biography

Obit: Funeral services for Lawrence Drinnin, 61, Mora, Minnesota, former resident of Wyoming, were held Saturday at Kidd Funeral Home, in Toulon. Rev. C. A. Bennett, of Henry, officiated. Song service was by Mrs. Margaret Wead, of Wyoming, who sang "In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross." She was accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Dwain Wallace, of Toulon. Pallbearers were John Robbins, Lyle Robbins, Arthur Storey, Clarence Carroll, Jack McHugh and Earl Griggs, of Wyoming. Burial was in Toulon cemetery. Mr. Drinnin died last Wednesday at Mora where he had lived the past 11 years. He had been ill for some time. Short services were held at Mora before the body was shipped to Toulon. Son of John and Betsy Duckworth Drinnin [1], he was born May 22, 1892, on a farm northwest of Wyoming. He attended the Winn rural school and the old Wyoming High School. He was united in marriage with Mabel Robinson, Toulon, who preceded him in death in 1926. To this union seven children were born, Mrs. Louise Stotler, of Camp Grove; Mrs. Isabelle White, of Long View, Texas; Miss Helen Drinnin, of Anderson, Indiana; Mrs. Marjorie Carter, of Wyoming; John Drinnin and William Drinnin, both of Wyoming. One son, Robert Drinnin, was killed in service in 1944 on Morati Island in the South Pacific. He later married Mrs. Violet Banks, of Wood River, and to this union nine children were born, all of whom survive. They are Roy, of Minneapolis, James and Charles, of Mora, Minnesota; Doris, of Anoha, Minnesota, and Earl, Gerald, James, Sharon and Shirley, at home. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Kelly and Mrs. Vada Bodine, both of Wyoming.
