RIN a48bcbda-ed2d-4ba2-b8f4-569d3b199e8e Stoney Creek Township, Indiana Physical Description: "This is a very old cemetery and is still in use. At the first grave in Union Cemetery, Mr. Clevinger, then a young man, stuck into the ground a sprig of a tree, and the sprig is growing still, a pretty large tree. The old part, known as Terrell is to the north on the west side of the road. It was in use by 1830. Four of the graves here are for Simon, Peter, James, and John Driskill, sons of Allen, a farmer in Stoney Creek Township. They were all killed in the Civil War Battle of Shiloh and Allen went south with his horse and wagon and hauled their bodies home for burial." Also buried here are several other family members, including Allen and Julie, parents. (This researcher cannot find the graves of James and Peter listed in the above story. ) (Source: http:/www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~inrandol/cemeteriesstoneycreektwsp.htm) META <metadataxml><cemetery ><transcription /><metadataxml> CREA 2021-10-15 22:43:18.000 CLON TID 6153654.
