Biography

Maj.Gen commanding the 3rd Bn. Scots Guards; Brig.Gen. commanding 7th Infantry Bde. Southern Command 1908-12. Page of Honour to HM Queen Victoria. Served in Bechuanaland 1884-5, Ashanti 1895-6, Sudan 1898, Boer War and WWI. Military secretary to Lord Minto, 1898–1900. Held the Japanese Order of the Rising Sun.

Occupation

He was a professional soldier - Commissioned into the Scots Guards, he rose to the rank of Major General. C.B., K.C.B., M.V.O.
