James was born about 1876, the son of John Drummond and Christina McGregor. He passed away in 1957[1] and was buried on 9 August at Bendigo Cemetery, Bendigo[2].
In 1930, James married Eveline Julia, daughter of William Frederick Scudder and Rose Anne Smith, and widow of Thomas Joseph Smith[3].
James was awarded the Military Medal in December 1917[4]. He was an orchardist in Nyah, retiring to Bendigo.
