Sir Robert Drummond of Carnock was Master of Work to the Crown of Scotland from 1579 to 1583. He was the grandfather of the poet, William Drummond of Hawthornden.
He crossed the Tweed into exile on 27 Apr 1584[4] but was back in Scotland on 19 Oct 1589 to winess the baptism of his granddaughter Janet, daughter of his son William.[5]
