Henricus DuBois born in 1710 in West Viginia (which until the civil war did not exist: it was still part of Viginia) cannot be the father of Henry Dove, born in 1733 in Germany (then, the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation). Henry's name at birth in standard German was "Heinrich Taube". Taube means "Dove" in English. In German dialect, the name Taube, shortened to "Taub", does sound like the anglicised spelling "Toup", for the German "au" sounds like "ou" in "house" or "au" in "kraut", and the final "b" in German sounds like a "p". His name was not the French "DuBois".
