Biography

Solomon was born 26 March 1774 probably in Pittsgrove, New Jersey, the son of David and Elizabeth (Newkirk) Dubois.[1]

Solomon married Lydia Heward in 1797.[1][2]

Solomon died in 1801 and was buried at the Old Pittsgrove Presbyterian Church Cemetery. His gravestone is engraved:

In Memory of Solomon Dubois who departed this life July the 17 1801 Aged 26 Years three Months and 22 days

Administration was granted on the estate of Solomon Dubois of Pittsgrove on 16 August 1801 to Lydia Dubois.[3] Fellowbondsmen were Joseph Heward and Richard Parker.

Lydia gave birth to their only child on 6 February 1802, after his father had died. He was named Solomon. She reportedly remarried to John Clark and then died in 1809.
