John Johnson DuBose was born on 14 February 1831 at The District of Barnwell (now Aiken County), South Carolina. He was the son of Isaac DuBose VI and Sarah Johnson. John Johnson DuBose married Susannah Jane Johnson, daughter of William John Johnson and Susanna Seigler. John Johnson DuBose died on 28 February 1879 at Aiken County, South Carolina, at age 48. He was buried at Johnson Cemetery, Windsor, Aiken County, South Carolina.
