Biography

Marie Felicite Dubreuil was born in St. Louis, Louisiana, New France (today known as St. Louis, Missouri), daughter of Louis Chauvet Dubreuil and Susanne de Saintous. She was born and raised in the New France community of St. Louis, Missouri, Louisiana Territory.[1]

On May 2, 1796, she married Jacques Marcellin Ceran Delassus St. Vrain, the son of Pierre Dehault DeLassus DeLuziere and Domitille Joseph Dumont Danzin de Beaufort, in St. Louis.

Marie and Jacques, who was born into the French Aristocracy and had to flee France prior to the French Revolution, would settle in St. Louis and have the following children:

  1. Charles Emmanuel St. Vrain (1797-1834)
  2. Felix Auguste Antoine St. Vrain (1799-1834)
  3. Odille Felicite St. Vrain (1801-1819)
  4. Ceran St. Vrain (1802-1870)
  5. Elizabeth St. Vrain (1803- )
  6. Caroline Ysabel St. Vrain (1804- )
  7. Savinien St. Vrain (1806- 1879)
  8. Domitille St. Vrain (1808- 1867)
  9. Emma St. Vrain (1812- )
  10. Marcellin St. Vrain (1815-1871)

Marie passed away in 1845 at the age of 70 years old. Her body is buried in the Old Saint Ferdinand Cemetery in Florissant, St. Louis County, Missouri, along with Jacques'.
