Adelaide was a free woman of color, the daughter of Alexander DUBREUIL and Marianne. In an excerpt from Christophe Landry-Hogan's "Famille Charles OLIVIER de Vésin/LaCoste,"[1]:
"By 1788, she (1st wife,Marie-Magdeleine) had died, and Charles OLIVIER de Vézin had taken up with one mulâtresse mistress and soon would have an additional one. Adélaïde DUBREUIL - mulâtresse affranchie, daughter of Alexandre DUBREUIL and Marianne – négresse esclave. Magdeleine LACOSTE – mulâtresse libre, daughter of Jean LA COSTE and unknown négresse mother." (Landry,Famille Charles OLIVIER de Vésin/LaCoste)
