The birth date for the Jacob Dudenhoeffer who was the son of Daniel Dudenhoeffer and Juliana Gademann, 19 Feb 1812,[1] does not match the 16 Mar 1811 birthdate on the tombstone of the Jacob Dudenhoeffer who died on 1 Sep 1892 in Indiana.[2] Since none of the documentation in the United States[3][4][5][6] names the parents of the man who died in 1892 in Indiana or specifies where in Bavaria he was born, it appears likely that these two were different men.
