Biography
Thomas was born about 1784. He is the son of Andrew Dudgeon and Isabel Symonton.
On May 29, 1814 he married Elizabeth 'Betty' Lillie in Duns, Berwickshire, Scotland.[1]
In the 1841 census, Thomas can be found living in the Spotsmains Cottages in Smailholm, Roxburghshire with his wife, Betty, and three children, Anne (19), William (14), and Thomas (8). His occupation is listed as agricultural labourer.[2]
In the 1851 census, Thomas was living in Old Greenlaw, Berwickshire with his wife, Betty, and son, William (24). His occupation is listed as Farm Steward (over 300 acres arable land the proprietor absent). There is also a servant living with the family, Margaret Wright (25).[3]
In the 1861 census, Thomas was still living at Old Greenlaw, Berwickshire with his wife, Betty, In this census his occupation is listed as retired farm steward.[4]
