Transcript of Will: In the Name of God, Amen; I Joseph Dudley of Concord In the County of Middx in the Province of the Massachusetts Bay in New England Blacksmith being of a Disposing mind & memory & in usual health - but calling to mind & realising the uncertainty of my life, Do make this my last will and Testament, Committing my Soul to God who gave it & my body to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executrix, hereafter named and as touching my wordly Estate I dispose of the Same as follows- Imp - I Give and bequeath unto my beloved wife, Mary Dudley the intire use and improvement of my Dwelling house & Buildings, lands & all my Estate both real and personal in Concord, so long as she shall remain my widow, with full power to sell or dispose of any part of my estate either real or personal for the paying my just debts which I owe or the portioning & setting up any Child as there may be need and as she shall think best & most for advantage of her self and the children Also I give unto each of my Children the sum of twenty shillings old tenor apiece to be paid to them within a year after my decease - and my will is that upon my wife's decease the whole estate that Shall be then remaining, be equally Divided amongst them, excepting only that my Eldest son Joseph Dudley and my youngest son Benja Dudley shall have twenty pounds apiece old tenor over and above their equal shares in said estate, or upon my wife's marriage said estate shall be thus divided amongst the children, she having her thirds, if she shall die before then. My Childrens names are Joseph, Elizabeth, Mary, Samel, Lucie, Rebecca, James, John, Abigail, & Benja Dudley And my will is that my said wife be the sole executrix of this my last will and testamant, allowing this and no other to be my last will & testament. In witness whereof I have set my hand and seal, this fifth day of July AD 1745 and in the nineteenth year of his Majesties Reign.
