Bridget Dufficy was born on 28 Apr 1874 in Lisduff, Ballygarden. She was the daughter of Martin Dufficy and Bridget Flanagan[1]. Her godparents were Martin Dufficy and Catherine Coleman.
She was one of nine surviving children who were raised in a three roomed thatched cottage with three front windows. Their farm had a cow house, piggery and shed. Her father Martin died in 1886 when she was twelve years old. In 1901, Bridget (27) lived with her mother Bridget (54) and siblings Patrick, Martin John and Margaret Mary[2].
Bridget (32) married Patrick McDermott of Cloonybrennan on 10 Jan 1907 in Strokestown Church. The witnesses were Tom Scally and Maggie Mary Dufficy[3].

Bridget McDermott died on 5 Dec 1962 from old age, at eighty eight years old. Her daughter Mary McCormack was present at her death[5].
Martin (son of Patrick & Bridget) has mother listed as Kate. No record found of second marriage for Patrick between 1900 – 1914. Suspect Kate may be middle name for Bridget or record error.
