When Louis Dufour was born on August 27, 1749, in Detroit, Michigan, his father, Pierre, was 28 and his mother, Marie, was 28. He married Francoise Angelique Dautour on March 19, 1773, in Montréal, Quebec. They had four children during their marriage. He died on January 7, 1809, in his hometown, at the age of 59.
