Marie Claire was born about 1840 more than likely in Saint-Dominique, Bas-Canada. Her parents were Hippolyte Dufresne and Angélique Charron.

Marie Claire Dufresne married Michel Laplante, son of the late Michel Laplante and Marie Casavant, on 8 Oct 1861 in Saint-Dominique (Bagot).[1]
