Marie-Josèphe Dugas, was born and baptized on 28 February 1762 at St. Nicolas Church of Boulogne, Pas-de-Calais, France. Her parents were Charles Dugas and Marguerite Granger. Her sponsors were Joseph Melanson and Marie Josephe Melanson. [2]
"With her parents and brother she arrived at St. Malo from Boulogne on 28 May 1766 on the brigantine "Le Hazard." The family lived at St. Servan from 1766-1768; at Plouer from 1769-1772." [2]
In September 1784, with her father and four siblings, she appeared on a list of Acadian families in Nantes, wishing to " go to Louisiana to establish themselves at the expense of His [Spanish] Catholic Majesty". [3]
They departed from France on the French ship La Bergere, chartered by Spain to carry Acadians to settle in Louisiana. The ship arrived in New Orleans, Louisiana on 15 August 1785. [4]

John Stephen Parker FTDNA kit # 1012632, (a grandchild of Dora Jackson) and his maternal line cousin Annette Fagnan Hebert-Autio FTDNA kit # 406832, (a grandchild of Ursule Martin) have a Genetic Distance = 1 in HVR2 at C324T, thereby confirming their direct maternal lines back to their most-recent common ancestor who is Andree Guyon the 8x great grandmother of Dora Jackson and the 7x great grandmother of Ursule Martin.
Paternal and Maternal relationships are both confident based on a triangulated group on MyHeritageDNA who share a 9.6 cM segment on chromosome 5, consisting of Audrey Lee Crockett and ML, her 6th cousin 1x removed, and SHU, her 7th cousin.
