Biography

Pierre Ducast is on the Wall of Names at the Acadian Memorial in St. Martinville, Louisiana Plaque 7-Right La Bergere. Listed with him is his spouse Margueritte Daigle and two daughters: Anne and Marie. [1]

Anne Marie was born in 1761.

She is the daughter of Pierre Dugast and Marguerite Daigre, born at Cotes d'Armor, France on 26 July 1761 and baptized the same day at Plouer, Cotes d'Armor, France. [2]

On list of "Acadians in France, September 1784," found in document in A.D.S. Legajo 2575, which shows the Acadian families who wanted to go to Louisiana to establish themselves at the expense of His [Spanish] Catholic Majesty.
Pierre DAIGRE [sic, should be DUGAS], with wife Marguerite DAIGRE, 3 daughters, for a family total of 5.
