According to his marriage record, Michel Dugast was born about 1726 to Pierre Dugast and his wife Marie Praud in the parish of Saint-Sebastien.[1]
He married twenty-nine year old, native of Quily, Francoise Durand, the daughter of the late Jean Durand and Francoise LeMarie, at Saint-Similien in Nantes on 1 Jul 1752.[1] At the time, Michel's own mother was also deceased, but his father and brother named Paul attended his marriage.[1]
Michel was deceased by the time his daughter Marie wed Jean Pierre Thibodeaux on 10 May 1785 in Chantenay, France.[2]

Perrine Francoise born 28 March 1753 and baptized that same day at Saint-Similien in Nantes.[3]
Marie Joseph dit Joseph (a male child) born 22 Jan 1755, baptized next day at Saint-Similien.[4]
Marie born 14 Jun 1758, baptized next day at Saint-Similien.[5] She died at the age of five years on 19 August 1763 and was buried the following day at Saint-Symphorien in Treillieres.[6]
Pierre born at Vireloux on 18 Nov 1759 and baptized the same day at Saint-Symphorien at Treillieres.[7]
Rene born at Garambaud on 19 Jun 1761 and baptized the same day at Saint-Symphorien, but died at about 19 hours of age.[8]
Francoise born at Les Dons on 20 Oct 1762 and baptized the same day at Saint-Symphorien.[9]
Marie Dugas born 31 Aug. 1766. She married an Acadian and immigrated to Louisiana.
Michel fils born 22 July 1771 at La Bourg and baptized same day at Saint-Symphorien.[10]
