Honora Duggan was born about 1831 in Ireland.

She married William Muprhy in November 1850 in Abbeyfeale, Ireland. They moved to the United States within the next couple years, as they had their first daughter, Ellen, in 1853 in Illinois.

On 1870 census in Iowa, she is listed as Honorah with husband William, and children Ellen, Joannah, Honorah, Bridget, Lucy. Marked as unable to read or write. Box for "Whether deaf and dumb, blind, insane, or idiotic" is marked for most of the family, unclear why.

Hanora Murphy died 22 Oct 1913 in Troy Township, Iowa County, Iowa. She was "about 90" years old. Her father is listed as William Duggan. She was buried at Holbrook, Iowa on Oct 24th.[1]
