DUHON, Clairville (Cyprien & Julie GRANGER [although this document erroneously lists the child as Clairville LOUVIERE and the parents as Cyprien LOUVIER & Julie LANDRY]) b. 16 April 1828; bt. 24 Aug. 1828 Spons: Onesime DUHON & Lise GRANGER Pats: Joseph DUHON & Scholastique HEBERT. [With this entry Fr. PEYRETTI begins to add the grandparents of the children he baptized. Unfortunately, this particular entry is made that much more difficult to understand since he lists the wrong parents altogether. It was only because the grandparents were listed that the correct parents could be found. To make it worse, the text is most difficult to read since the bleeding ink has darkened the entire entry. Fr. PEYRETTI ordinarily gives two grandparents, but he is so inconsistent in how these are listed that it is often unclear. In listing the two "grandparents" he at times will give the child's paternal grandfather and paternal grandmother, while in other instances he actually gives as "grandparents" the child's paternal grandfather and the child's maternal grandmother - all quite confusing. In every entry by Fr. PEYRETTI every marriage record of the parents had to be located in order to ascertain the correct grandparents.] Fr. Laurent PEYRETTI (Laf. Ch.: v.3, p.62, #183)
