Sarah Ann was born between 1836-1837 according to census reports. She is listed with her widowed mother; Elizabeth on the 1850 Census.[1] In 1855 she married Henry Grinstead Jr:

SARAH ANN DUKE HISTORY
Sarah was born in Barren Co., KY on 14 November 1855, the daughterof John M. Duke, Sr. and Elizabeth R. Drumwright, both of GoochlandCounty, Virginia.
She married Henry Grinstead, Jr. of Hart County, Kentucky andtogether they reared five children.
She died between 1874 and 1878, that is, between the birth of herlast child and the 2nd marriage date of her husband. What caused her todie at 19 to 23 years of age? Life was hard in those days and life wassometimes cut very short.

The condition of this bond is a follows: That, wereas Marriage is intended to be solemized between the above bound Henry Grinstead and NancyE. Coomes. Now, if there is no lawful cause to obstruct said marriage, this bond shall be void, otherwise it shall remain in full force and effect. Dated at Edmonton, Metcalfe County, this 30 day of Dec 1878.
