Wednesday, July 30, 1952, page 1, JOE ALLEN DUKE, Mr. Duke, 64, Dies At Home Mr. Joe Allen Duke, 64, died suddenly this morning at his home, 617 North 18th street. Mr. Duke was born in Harris County, Ga. He had lived in Griffin for the past 10 years. He was employed by Dundee Mill No. One in the weave room for eight years. He was a Royal Arch Mason and a member of Masonic Lodge 413. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ozela H. Duke; five daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Mae Brooks, Mrs. Florence Bennett, Miss. Sara Duke, Mrs. Irene Griffin and Mrs. Velma Holt, all of Griffin; three sons, Milus Duke, Griffin, Jack Duke, Rome, and Barney Duke, Hamilton, Ga.; one sister, Mrs. Nannie Lou McCollum, Columbus; two brothers, B. W. Duke, Selma, Ala., and Wiley Duke, Dothan, Ala. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a. m. at the Kincaid Methodist Church with the Rev. C. H. Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill cemetery with McDonald Funeral Home in charge.
