Biography

Seaborn was born about 1808. He passed away in 1881.

He married Mary Dansby Cato on 30 October 1838 in Troup County, Georgia. [1] She had been married previously to William Cato.

They appear together with three Cato children and five Duke children in the 1850 census. [2] The Duke children were:

  • Mary, 10
  • Martha, 9
  • Sarah, 7
  • Lorena, 4
  • Frances, 1

The Cato children were:

  • Ellen, 18
  • Robert, 16
  • William, 24

In the 1860 census, Seaborn is listed as a Methodist Clergyman. Seaborn and Mary's household include the above Duke children, plus a Robert Duke, age 24 (who might have Robert Cato).[3]

In the 1880 census, he is listed as age 72, employed as a local preacher. He and Mary are living with daughter Lenora (possibly Lorena above?), a Hardaway family, and a Lola Wood.[4]
