A native and lifelong resident of Clay County, she graduated from Clay County High School and attended Alverson and Draughon Business College.
She then went on to pursue a career as a Licensed Practical Nurse and received her certification after completion of her schooling and internship in Gadsden and Anniston. She worked in the Lineville Nursing Facility and retired after over 30 years of service.
Ida Rice ( Duke ) Passed Away on August 30, 2011, in in Lineville, Alabama, having lived for more than 100 years, and is buried in Ashland, Alabama, United States.
