Benjamin Dumas III was a North Carolina colonist.

Benjamin was born in 1756 in Richmond (or Anson), Colony of North Carolina. He died on August 9, 1787 in the same region.

Benjamin married Susannah Hutchins in about 1779, and together they had at least three sons, David Dumas (1781-1850), Benjamin Franklin Dumas IV (1783-1853) and Moses Washington Dumas (1787-1862).
