Biography

• Patrice Dumont was born October 12, 1865, at St.François Xavier, the son of Isidore Dumont and Judith Parenteau. His father was killed during the fighting at Duck Lake. Élie Dumont mentions Patrice as a member of a group of seven men fighting as a unit on the fourth day of battle at Batoche.

• The group consisted of Élie Dumont, Patrice Tourond, Baptiste Deschamps, Edward Fitcall, Modeste Laviolette, Patrice Dumont and Salomon Boucher.

• On February 21, 1887 Patrice married Marie-Louise Patenaude, the daughter of Resistance fighter Hilaire Patenaude and his wife Marie-Magdeleine Montour. She was born on April 7, 1869 at St. Joseph’s, North Dakota.
