Biography

Thomas was born on 20 May 1751 at Hack-hill in the parish of Logie Pert and baptised on 23 May 1751. [1]

There is no evidence for his marriage to Mary Bertie in the Old Parochial Registers indexes on the ScotlandsPeople website; however, there are baptismal entries for five children born to Thomas Dun and Mary Bertie in the parish of Logie Pert, Angus:

  1. Helen Dun bp 25 June 1767[2]
  2. Alexander Dun bp 9 July 1769 [3]
  3. Jean Dun bp 6 October 1771[4]
  4. Elizabeth bp 18 February 1776[5]
  5. Mary Dun bp 5 July 1778 [6]

Based on this list, it is probable that the couple married before 1767.
