Banker in Missouri Horace Jr. was known in the family as only Junior and as one of the older males would take the lead and say the prayer at our Dunagan reunions. They were held at his father's home in 1944 and 1945. For the spelling of the middle name in our family IT WAS SPELLED HURREL. I went back to a survey of family groups in the 1970s and found Geneva Harris (Dunagan) an older sister of Junior's did spell it that way. The boys all went by initials or nicknames.
For several years I worked as a Support Customer Engineer for IBM at Union Planters Bank. Junior's Bank up in Missouri was a correspondent bank to Union Planters. I went in one morning and was met by a group of Data Processors wanting to know if I knew Hoss Dunagan. Hoss was causing a lot of trouble and if I knew him please ask him to stop. Well Hoss was Horace Jr. When their work wasn't correct or on time he being president of his bank contacted the president of Union Planters and a letter would go down the chain of command and require a written response as to why they had failed to meet their responsibilities. I saw him a short time later at our reunion and told him the story and said, keep it up it keeps them on their toes.
