Unverified Parents/Children - Lineage Needs To Be Proven
There is a great deal of conflicting information surrounding the Duncan Family – Many Source-to-Source discrepancies; co-mingling, Lack of records; conflicting family stories; number of Duncan’s with the same names; Birth date discrepancies , etc. Name Variations Duncan - Dunkin - Doncom etc.

Possible brother of MARSHALL I who is definitely related to John Duncan I of Fauquier Co. VA. Robert and Marshall I both in Prince William same timeframe.

Married by 1735 Ann Gallop, one of the four daughters of Robert Gallop who died 20 May 1720 leaving a nuncupative will which failed to take effect as to his landed estate. [3] Marriages of Richmond Co. VA

John Duncan III married Elizabeth Holtzclaw - parents unknown/unproven relationship; seems unlikely due to DNA tests which are inconclusive at this time.
John IV m. Wilkey as attached - Not a likely son (unproven relationship); is likely a "1st arrival"

one Charles from Culpeper Co. VA married to Elizabeth Dillard (daughter of George Dillard and Pricilla Major) in 1772
one Charles m. Mary Roberts - died in Davis Co. KY Most likely son Charles; circumstantial only.
(Both Robert and Charles of Davis Co appear to have had land on Summer Duck Run).
1st m. about 1767 Sarah (aka Hannah ) Fletcher, presumed daughter of John). Charles and James Jett (m. sister Rosey) were Witnesses to marriage of Joseph and Sarah Fletcher [5]and
2nd Hannah Freeman 1771- Harris Freeman to "Joseph" Duncan, bond filled in "Joseph Duncan", 21 Aug. 1771, bond Joseph Duncan, pg.43[6]

Hi Lisa - I initiated a merge on Robert Duncan-105 and Ann Gallop-4 (name variations) and known child Joseph Duncan-7463 m (Fletcher & Freeman) Reportedly m. 2X (2nd marriage unproven as a son of Robert). Please review - If you agree, please approve. Thank you for maintaining 1 Profile per person. As far as I know - not a proven child of James Duncan and Mary Mollie (Browning).

Quite a bit of cleanup and research done re Holtzclaw connection (see Holtzclaw-46) and Ancestor connections for This Robert Duncan-15388 don't agree so other merges would be required for existing profiles. at the ancestor levels Regards, Sandy
