Biography
James was born perhaps around 1770, estimating that he was 26 years old when he married in 1796.
James married Elizabeth Caie at the Parish of Kincardine O'Neil in Aberdeenshire, Scotland on 21 September 1796.[1] Children, list probably incomplete:
- John b. ca. 1801; d. 1869
- William b. ca. 1808; d. 10 April 1874; m. Isabella Gillespie
Research Notes
Records of the births of John and Elizabeth's children have not been found. They are named on the death certificates of their sons William and John.[2]
Elizabeth was living with son William at Banchory Ternan in 1851, shown as a widow born at Cluny Parish around 1774. She is possibly the daughter of John Caie and Jean Steven born at Cluny on 18 June 1775.
