Discrepancy

No original source records have been located to confirm birth or marriage records. It appears that some erroneous information may have been published, and perhaps republished/reported, making the “actual facts” obscure. There is a great deal of conflicting information surrounding the Duncan Families in North Carolina – Many Source-to-Source discrepancies; co-mingling of records, Lack of records; conflicting family stories; number of Duncan’s with the same names, inter-marriages, etc.

There are several Duncans that seem to originate from Albermarle Parish -- many named Nathaniel, Daniel, David etc. Therefore, it is recommended that researchers perform their own thorough analysis of the different family lines.

See Research Notes regarding Daniel/Nathaniel. Both had sons named Nathaniel (aka Nathan aka Nathanel) There is a good deal of controversy regarding which Nathaniel married Jane Rainey Nov. 6 1782 North Carolina.

Jesse Lester McReynolds (1929-2023) and it's solid. Potential duplicates were not presented when I re-created.
