Biography

George Duncan was born 01 Mar 1873 to Adam Duncan and Elizabeth Sherriffs[1]. In the 1881 census, George is with his parents and brothers William, Robert, Alexander and Adam at Mid Mill, Kintore[2]. 24 year old George, a Farm Servant from Cairnfold, Cluny, married Isabella Dickson, age 24 from Littleton Midmar at Linton Mains in Midmar on 23 Jun 1897. Witnesses were William Duncan and Georgina Dickson. George, a Farmer, died 15 Dec 1918 at the Royal Infirmary in Aberdeen. He had an acute intestinal obstruction and chronic appendicitis with adhesions. His usual residence was Dalherrick, Midmar. His brother in law Robert Shepherd, from Royfield Crescent in Aberdeen was the death informant.

George is mentioned on a gravestone in the Kirkyard of Kinellar along with his parents and brother in law George Harper.
